Saw this, can’t say where from

This was one of the comments:
The enigma of Tuba Skinny
… from Nu Orlins, also known as NOLA. They were essentially imports from elsewhere, drawn by the street scene … and the street (in a good way) has been their sustenance.
For example, in that scene (not actually running that song just now as there are six others, in two lots of three) … the reliance of TS on the people around, on their leader Shaye, on all sorts of vibrant things … is never so apparent as when someone plonks a toddler in her line of sight … she goes all clucky, as do the ladies in the crowd … it lifts her playing to another level … which lifts the band, which lifts the surrounding people … which gets some of them dancing … you get the idea.
It’s the interactive thing most of the time but sometimes, not many around, people indifferent, they can be flat, even off key … that in itself is dynamic.
YT, in their graciousness, dumped seven good TSs on me, inc. ones not heard much at N.O., if at all. And they’re pretty darned good. I sorted them into three today, three next Sunday.
Then YT dropped another four and you know what … those four were like just another street band without their act fully together. A very up and down band, TS.
The first number here was a bit different … the little kid was out of Shaye’s line of sight, they lose steam halfway, the kid wanders off … with TS, there’s always something going on … I also prefer when the guy sings in that gravelly way:
Jabbo Smith played the next one in 1929 … he was from Georgia, went NY way, Shaye Cohn is from Boston. This slower set piece reminds me of NOLA or at least the south in its style:
And a nice one to finish with:
Another roundup
9. excellent, enjoyed all three, no favourite, all good.
"YT, in their graciousness, dumped seven good TSs on me,"
They dump some oddities on me at times, mostly of some interest though.
