13. Strange sort of post item below

It’s about fending off lurgy again … that’s if I even have. More interesting is why it nearly got me a second time.

Ongoing condition is 2017’s heart and circulatory, with breathing spinoff. This meant meds … six of them, which alter the equation … one is statins and I’m thinking about that a lot, plus the beta blocker.

Result is that if sedentary here, low liquid, no proper food yet, e.g. in the morning, that does not automatically mean trouble but it does if I open windows and create drafts. Add to that the low, dark cloud, oppressively high temp out there … about 25C, poisoned air. Add to that that this ramshackle mansion has pockets everywhere of low temps … maybe 13C, plus drafts.

Add to that the bad quality workmanship in the house, plus not having vacuumed since last midweek, plus it’s windy today.

What we have is a bizarre combination which does not match the forecast or even appearance of the day. Forecast is 25C, wind, brilliant sunshine … we have all that but I was probably underdressed for all the rest of it mentioned above. Minor stuff? Storm in a teacup? Nope … I felt the throat go … that flu spot, dived into bed … within ten minutes, it was right again.

Outside, on the road, a young family walked past. He was up front, just a tee shirt and shorts, as I was. She though was wearing a jacket, so were the kids. Which brings in another factor … I still haven’t got back the 4kg after the lurgy … lower body mass now, like her. Plus I forgot to don cap, it’s on now while writing this.

Moral of the tale? Why is summer, not winter, my danger time for lurgy? I’m not counting Jan 2000, as that was something sweeping the land.

Moral? Be bleedin’ careful, chaps and chapesses, about your health … really … keep one eye on it.
